Registration includes access to all conference events: workshops, showcases, exhibit hall, open mics, social gatherings and networking on site. Registration does not include hotel or meals. Room and meal packages must be made separately and directly with the Blue Ridge Assembly below.

3-night stay : Arrival Thursday, Departure Sunday, 8 meals Thurs. dinner through Sun. breakfast

2-night stay: Arrival Friday, Departure Sunday, 5 meals Fri. dinner through Sun. breakfast

Commuter rate includes lunches and dinners only $95 per person

YMCA policy on “a la carte” or “extra” days of catering. (e.g., someone wants to stay only the night of the 11th and only have dinner on the 11th and breakfast on the 12th). Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate people in building these a la carte packages – it just gets way too complicated in keeping the catering numbers and the lodging information current in our system.

Official Showcase 2025 Submissions Open Jan 10


Showcases will feature eight artist on Friday and Saturday nights. Each act will have 15 minutes to perform on a stage with professional sound. No backline gear will be provided. There are no other events held during the official showcase. Application fee is $30, there will be no production fees. Selection committee includes presenters from our region. Deadline to apply for a showcase is 02/15/2024. Applicants will be notified by 03/05/2024 with an official announcement to be made soon after - around April 1st. Please be prepared to provide links to two, single song performance videos. Artists who performed in the 2023 SERFA official showcase are not eligible this year.

Cancellation Policy

If you pay for registration and are unable to attend the conference, please send us an email. If canceled 30 or more days in advance, 100% of the registration fee will be refunded, less any third party fees; between five (5) and 30 days in advance, 75% will be refunded. Cancellations received within fewer than five days do not qualify for a refund. In the case of extenuating circumstances, the conference committee may consider exceptions to this policy on a case by case basis.


Apply to Perform in a Private Showcase

Private showcases are booked and hosted by individuals or organizations. Private showcases begin after official events on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings and end by 2:00 am. These showcases are held in meeting rooms. Hosts and artists MUST be registered for the conference. Performances must be acoustic. Exceptions will be made for keyboard and bass at reasonable volumes.

Private showcase hosts decide who they will schedule in their rooms. If you want to be considered to perform in a private showcase, please complete the form below, which will be made available to hosts. There is no deadline for artists to apply to perform in private showcases, but it is in your best interest to complete the application as early as possible. Private showcase hosts may start booking their rooms as soon as we notify them that they are confirmed to host. You may also introduce yourself in the Google Group and let people know that you are interested in private showcases, but please wait until after we announce that showcase hosts have been notified.

Request to Host a Private Showcase

Anyone individual or organization can request to host a private showcase. Private showcases begin after official events on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings and end by 2:00 am. These showcases are held in meeting rooms. Hosts and artists MUST be registered for the conference.SERFA is limiting the number of private showcase rooms to foster a community of listening and supporting each other. You may host one or two evenings at a cost of $30 per night. You will be provided with payment instructions after rooms are assigned. For now, you are just requesting a room to host a showcase.

Applications to host a private showcase are closed, but there may still be spots available. If you are interested, please email conference@serfa.org.

Attending a conference is a great investment, but we understand the cost can be a hardship. We have been given three from anonymous donor. We have some criteria that needs to be met with this and when you are ready to submit a short explanation of what you are looking for and why then please email, Jill Kettles, Board President - president@serfa.org

SERFA Scholars requirements

  • Recipients must be a first-time attendee for an in-person SERFA conference

  • Recipients are expected to pay a minimum of $50 and no more than $100 towards their conference costs

  • Recipients must be a first-time attendee for an in-person SERFA conference

  • Recipients must work two 2-hour volunteer shifts during the conference

  • Members of a group may apply collectively or individually

  • Anyone may apply, however preference will be given to touring singer-songwriters looking for professional and personal development
